Totally worth the journey

In case you missed it, a few weeks ago I have written about what I regret packing into my 20kg suitcase to my new Australian life four years ago. Not too much of a failed guess on my part, I have to admit, but it's time for me to disclose what I have come back to get.

Taking back from Italy

I actually kept a list, and every time I thought of something from my wardrobe I would write it down, ready to go through this list once in Italy.

I've been in Italy for about a month and during this time I have squirrelled away all the items from my list, following the motto:

"I haven't come all the way to Italy, 24 hours of flight, many many dollars, to forget this on a chair."

And in it went, into my suitcase, heavily guarded by my cat which favourite place to chill is inside my suitcase when it's open on the ground.

Cut to me on Airport security trying to explain the cloud of cat hair.

Among the items I have put on the list, some did not make the cut to my suitcase. Some I simply couldn't find anymore, others aren't just right for my Australian life yet.

The majority of the articles on my list I declared that, yes, they are just as good as I remember and I need them in my life. Amongst these:

Many pairs of a very specific brand of underwear that fits my shape.

Now I made it sound like I have a hexagon butt.

I've lived long enough to know what I feel comfortable in, and I have not been able to find the same comfort in Aussie underwear.

I wish I had a cooler excuse.

It may seem odd, but I can assure you I am not the only one sharing the same feeling about Australian underwear. There's clearly a Mediterranean gap in the market and, considering the amount of Italians and Greeks in Melbourne, someone should jump on it ASAP.

Welcome to my underwear drawer, where everything is exotic and literally is the same bra and panty in all colours.

Then, I am taking back a few accessories, Not that I have missed these rings and necklaces in particular but, back in my England days,

All 300 of them,

Fashion was much more enjoyable and I did collect some nice accessory, including galaxy platform shoes. It's a pity I had to deal with vanilla accessories for the past years when I had super cool gear sitting at home unused.

Better take them shoes out for a ride before I am too old for that.

My long mint skirt. Four years ago I thought it was way too fancy for everyday life, now I know long skirts are awesome in summer at work because you get the breeze without the need to shave.

D'ya feel me, girls?

Lastly, my Harry Potter wand. More specifically, the wand that chose me at the Warner Bros Studios in London and turned out to be Narcissa Malfoy's.

Totally worth the journey.
